2020: SERVPRO Gainesville/Alachua County West's Year in Review

SERVPRO Gainesville/Alachua County West technicians disinfect a first responder vehicle during free drive-through event

Zoom calls. Masks. Social distancing. This year has certainly been an unexpected roller coaster, but we wanted to focus on some of the 2020 highlights for our SERVPRO Gainesville/Alachua County West team.  Despite its challenges, we had the honor of being deemed an essential service during the pandemic and continued to serve our community as a 24/7/365 emergency restoration and cleaning company.

Having already had years of experience in biohazard cleaning  and following CDC guidelines, we donned our PPE and adapted to the Covid-19 crisis, providing both preventative cleanings and deep clean disinfections, to get our local businesses back open as quickly and safely as possible.

We wanted to give back to the community and recognize our first responders on the front line, so we organized several free vehicle drive-through disinfection events where local police officers, firefighters, and ambulance crews could get their vehicles deep cleaned and hopefully leave feeling a little bit safer.

We also normally sponsor the annual Drink GNV networking event hosted by the Gainesville Chamber of Commerce. This year, it looked a little different and was spread out over several weeks to adhere to safety guidelines, but we still managed to creatively support our fellow local businesses during a challenging year. Our co-owner, Becky Raymond, still served as Vice President of the Newberry Jonesville Chamber of Commerce, even if meetings were a little more socially distanced.

If 2020 has taught us anything, it’s how to be flexible! Our on-call technicians are available 24/7 to quickly head to fire, water, or mold disasters and we are grateful for all our employees who have worked so hard this year. We are always staying up to date on the current safety guidelines to keep our staff and customers safe.

We also appreciate all of our residential and commercial customers, who have trusted us this year to fix your disasters, or referred us to friends and families and left positive SERVPRO job reviews. We wish everyone a safe and happy New Year - here’s to 2021!
